It is a five day event held in February and March every year. It draws a footfall of about 2,000 from more than 200 Universities across the region. Started in 2007 on the initiative of Jammu University and AIU, New Delhi, now in its 8th edition, it has become the largest festival of its kind in the entire South Asia. The SAUFEST is the annual cultural festival of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi organised in collaboration with the Universities of South Asian Countries.

The 8th SAUFEST-2015 intends to showcase performances by the stalwarts of the entertainment industry, from India and abroad. In the earlier SAUFESTs the celebrities like Rabbi Shergill, Javed Ali, Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Tania Sachdev, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Tom Alter had come and been a part of the events in this festival. Performers like Farhan Akhtar, Kailash Kher, KK, Mohit Chauhan, Papon, Shilpa Rao, Shubha Mudgal, Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan and Surinder Sharma had performed.

For the 8th SAUFEST-2015 the organisers besides encouraging the local talent will surely invite vibrant performers of the entertainment industry, from India and abroad

The 8th SAUFEST-2015 consists of student volunteers who work to promote creativity and intellectualism, and it symbolizes a place to be together and celebrate, as its name suggests.
