Diwali the auspicious festival of light that brings joy, peace and prosperity was celebrated in St. John’s School, Abu Road on 25th October 2016 with devotion and enthusiasm.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp and worshiping God Ganesha and Lakshmi ji the goddess of wealth. The dialogue between Shri Ram and the boatman was beautifully depicted through a Dance-Drama act. The energetic and charismatic dance performance put forth by students not only entertained the audience but also gave powerful message of cherishing the Indian culture and heritage.
The melody was in the air when the SJS choir sang songs on Diwali A duet song by Ritika Vachhani of Class VIII A and Mihir Singh of Class VII B left a magical effect on the audience. Raghvendra Gurjar and Angad Singh of Class XII Science charged the audience by their electrifying rap song. Bhumi Rajput of class XI Com. mesmerised the audience by her melodious voice.
Class IV students recited a poem on the fun, joy and harmony that Diwali brings for the society. The stars came down when the entire campus was lighted with lamps. The programme concluded by a message from the Principal Madam. She emphasized on radiating happiness in the society, keeping the society clean and being thankful to all the people who are serving the society selflessly.
