Mount Abu with time and rapid development in tourism helped it to beg the status of a “Nagar”, thus having a Nagar Palika taking care of all the administrative activities, managerial tasks and the comforts of the residents and tourists.

The vast mountains of the hill station come under the district of Sirohi headed by the district collector, who holds the highest position in district administration.

Sirohi is divided into 5 divisions in which mount abu is one of them,n abu has tehsils where the tehsildar is termed as the head. The tourist preferred abu has 23 small villages, all under one Tehsildar. The tehsildar reports to the SDO of the region who in turn reports to the district collector.

The active Nagarpalika is one of the oldest in the country and works with full dedication and the chairman is elected on the basis of elections conducted in the region in a span of 5 years.

The poverty grasped place is administrated by many poverty alleviation programs for the welfare of the people by the government.

The hotel industry also has an organization (MAHA) MOUNT ABU HOTEL ASSOCIATION, which is regularly working to develop the tourism sector resulting in the improvement of overall economy of the dynamic region.

In the last conducted election, Congress won maximum no. of seats (19-6) and thus made its Nagar Palika Board. Nagar Palika is board of 25 Parshads.
