Abuites made it to be the fastest in Mount Abu International Trail Marathon 8th Edition

Mount Abu | 1st April 2018 morning mount abu rise with the tapping sound of the participants running in 8th edition of Mount Abu International Marathon 2018 through the most beautiful and among the highest trekking path of Rajasthan “Tiger’s Path”, running off road, sedimentary, plain, sandy or green with a message to “Save Forest”.

In the 8th edition of this half marathon an annual event by LS Sports there were two kind of trails 1st 21 km (half marathon) and another was 10 km for new sprints. In both the categories total 771 runners participated but only 565 runners could only complete the distance. The youngest runner aged 10 and oldest was 79 years young.

Marathon flagged off with the first ray of light from Polo ground in the presence of DFO, SDM, Municipal Corporation Chairman of Mount Abu, where 10 km runners had to run through city bus stop towards hotel hillock reaching tiger’s path and had to take a U turn from 2 km in the jungle where as 21 km following the same path as of 10 km extending it to dead end of Tiger’s Path and from there they had to take a U turn returning on the same path and via Gurudwara, Sunset and Tibetan Market they had to return back to Polo ground.

Abuites brother made it to be the first in both the categories
Sunil Lobaniya (21 km) Vijay Lobaniya (10 km) were the fastest/ winners of the the marathon taking 1 hour 30 mins and 36 mins respectively to cover the distance, following them were the two Kenyan runners who lost the direction and had to run 6 kms more still made it to be the second and third position.

Winning categories, winners and times

All the participants who completed the distance were digitally measured for their running time while tapping on the electronic mats and were later facilitated with medals, online certificates, refreshments, t shirts and winners got cash prize. Mr. Lihas Trivedi the organizer of the event expressed his gratitude and thanks to all the participants, dignitaries and each and every individual who directly or indirectly contributed in the success of this mega event once again.
